Douglas Wenger
Dr. Wenger grew up on a dairy farm in Dalton, Ohio, and was a valedictorian at Dalton High School. He attended undergraduate school at Case Western Reserve University, graduating in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Music. During undergraduate school, Dr. Wenger spent his junior year abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK, where he also studied chemistry, played rugby, and sang in the Brighton Festival Chorus. He attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, graduating in 2002, and went on to complete his Family Medicine residency at Summa Health System, Akron City Hospital, in 2005. Dr. Wenger is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has practiced in Doylestown since 2005. He joined Community Health Care in 2015. His practice includes care of infants to the elderly, with special interests in procedures and sports medicine.
Dr. Wenger is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, and Christian Medical Association. As a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), he instructs medical students and residents in the office several days each month. He finds joy spending time with his wife and four children, keeping busy following their many academic and extracurricular endeavors. He has been active in his church, having served as a member of the church council, Sunday School teacher, and musician. Biking, woodworking, home improvement projects/repairs, reading, and learning about anything mechanical are additional hobbies.
